Ikusa Suvia / Ikusa Otome Suvia - 04

Gadgets on Thursday

am Every Thursday I introduce here a gadget.

The first gadget is the 3D Oakley Sunglasses.

According to Oakley that is the first Optically correct 3D glasses on the planet. Oakley says that the theater experience is better with these glasses. I can well imagine that this is true (especially because it looks better than many cinema glasses ;-).
Seriously. Oakley has Glasses calculated and they say that through precise manufacturing of the lenses to a clearer picture and can be viewed with less Artfakten. A small bonus is that the angle of view is greater.
As far as I understand it, the glasses for the upcoming blockbuster Tron will be available. In the U.S., the spectacle is to already have.
about the price ($ 120) is known to be debated.
full information, please on the Oakley site.

My Baby Has Torticollis And Club Foot

dual phase steel

Together with Massimo Buonanno and Maria Boscardin as an actor we shot at camera work recently a short film in 3D.

Director: Claudio Sulser
Color: Nicolas Henri Sieber
camera / stereo Grapher: Christian Witschi
Drums: Massimo Buonanno
Smith: Mario Boscardin

The first deployment of our new Field recorder by P + S Technik. Led by our in-house director Claudio Sulser, we shot in St. Gallen running our first 3D short film. Cast as one of the party was once again Massimo Buonanno. His first try in front of the camera was also the holder of the location Mario Boscardin. A big thanks also includes Nicolas Henri Sieber for the great color grading system on the Quantel Pablo. Without him this film would probably never in Hollywood at a 3D movie theaters have been seen.

Where I Can Watch Bangbros

new toy (first impressions)

Today, the Fuji Finepix W3 V2 3D camera came in the mail. There is a small camera with can create 3D images.
Inside the box is a CD with Sowftware and the manual, a battery, charger, warranty card and a wrist strap.
An SD memory card is not included, in the meantime, however, very favorable. I have the high-priced land two 4GB cards for Switzerland CHF 28 - got (approximately 20 euros). Is it worth it for the camera even bigger card to buy, especially if one wants to make videos.
The battery will be charged first before you can really play with that thing. The camera
looks pretty unimpressive what, what I like. It is compact enough to mitzunehemen in the jacket, the pocket is slightly too big.

After my patience with the loading of the battery was out, I've got a couple of shots made in the neighborhood :-)
To view the pictures please send an anaglyph glasses touched down.

In the next days I will test the camera a little more intense.

The Basic Basics

One time start: 3D is an optical illusion. Everything we see happening in images in 3D in mind. This image (or movie) remains flat.
And today I will not beat (or barely) with technical terms to me.

create content 3dimensional

be to create 3D images two needed each other in perspective shifted, pictures. These two images are called fields (this is because when a 3D image seen one of these fields is half responsible for the effect. Only two fields can create an entire 3D image).
These fields can be created in various ways.
In photography are often held just two cameras side by side (which is indeed the easiest solution is not always the desired Result leads).
To create an optimal 3D is now a lot of work with semi-transparent mirrors.

viewing 3Dimansionalen content
The real issue is the 3D aside to represent the generation of an optical illusion. Simply put, each eye sees only one image, by the offset of the images our brain computes the dimension and puts together so the 3D.
is made, the starting material bad, you get headaches because the brain will certainly try to calculate a correct representation.

short to represent
Here are but a few technical terms. The easiest way to represent
3D and almost independent of Presentation medium is the Anaglyph ( what Wikipedia says about ). The two images are overlapped and different then what is displayed in different colors (usually red / blue (cyan)). By glasses, which in the left eye and a red foil on the right eye a blue film, one sees with one eye only a picture. Together, this results in a 3-dimensional impression.

is somewhat more complicated the already Shutter technology . This view only works on screen (or screens) with a sufficiently high refresh rate. Here are the pictures varied as shown and with glasses, once the left and once the right eye closes in the head back together. the frequency of the images is too slow, creating a flickering.

In the cinema, the images are often dagestellt Polarized (there are even TVs use this technique, which are still in the top price segment). Here is the image through a polarizing filter (the filter passes only light in a certain direction, the photographers of our readers have probably already heard of it) on the projector and a polarizer to split the glasses.

I will go down in the near future in more detail on different things.
