Some time ago I have found in the blog I greatly respect of Ulrich Media the article DAM: virtual copies, snapshots and seen data loss Michel Mayerle. This deals with deals with the problems that virtual copies in Lightroom only exist in the database and can not be stored in the sidecar files. This can be problematic for several reasons. For me the most tangible is that virtual copies are not made available to other programs, if not work as an editor in the LR. This is true even for the Bridge from Adobe.
Over a simple snapshot Michel Mayerle found a very smart way to circumvent this problem elegantly and I thought that you can automate this also wonderful.
